Some children are pressure-sensitive. They react to traditional parenting methods in unexpected ways. The more their parents try to set firm boundaries or implement reward systems, the worse things get.
Parents find new ways of doing things - but they often continue to worry. They see their child's behaviour now, and worry that it will be like this for ever. How will they ever learn the skills they need for later life, if we don't insist that they learn them?
In this recording, Dr Naomi Fisher and Eliza Fricker will talk about how low demand parenting changes as children grow up. They'll talk about the stages which families typically go through when they start using low demand parenting. They'll draw on their experience as professionals as well as parents.
